In collaboration with National Geographic Society, this award-winning eight-hour series is a primer for understanding the evolution of the animal kingdom and animal biodiversity. The initiative was recognized for its science-based content, style, storytelling, pioneering techniques in underwater and deep-sea filmmaking, and integrated outreach model that achieved high levels of public participation. The series was made possible through the generous support of The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the National Science Foundation, and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
